£80m to make Chelsea 'sexy'

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich spent over £70 million in January and is ready to splash out another £80m in the summer in a bid to bring 'sexy football' to Stamford Bridge, according to The Sun.

According to the paper, the club have identified three key areas where they want to improve the team with "a creative midfielder, a flying winger and a classy right-back" all on their radar.

The three names that are believed to top that wish-list are Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, Tottenham's Gareth Bale and Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel.

However, The Sun also lists another host of reported targets with Internazionale's Wesley Sneijder, Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller, Manchester City's Adam Johnson, Wolves' Matt Jarvis, Aston Villa's Ashley Young, Everton duo Jack Rodwell and Marouane Fellaini, Tottenham's Luka Modric and Arsenal's Andrey Arshavin all mentioned as options.

A 'Blues insider' told the paper: "Roman has always wanted to see a Chelsea side that played what he calls 'sexy football'.

"He'd rather see a match where they win 4-3 in swashbuckling style than grind out a 1-0 result."
